Columbine - Type Students In American Public Schools Don’t â€Å"kid† yourself. There’s inconvenience in heaven that gets away from the vision of people wearing rose-hued glasses. I’m not a contemporary Chicken Little going around shouting â€Å"The sky is falling!† And I’m not a young man shouting out â€Å"Wolf!† I am a previous English instructor with thirty-four years homeroom experience. I’ve educated through wars, downturns, political deaths and open enemy of war fights. I’ve seen and separated many bleeding â€Å"student† battles. I’ve been undermined by rankled â€Å"students† and by their perturbed â€Å"parents.† Been there; done that! Columbine-type â€Å"students† go to generally high and center schools the nation over. They go to Hammonton High, Hammonton Middle, Edgewood, Oakcrest and even Beverly Hills High. They may not generally wear channel covers and convey hid weapons and projectiles. Yet, the Columbine â€Å"student† mentality is certainly present. These pained Columbine-type adolescents are more terrifying than the unpleasant savvy folks that day by day oppose educator authority and they are more alarming than the â€Å"student† menaces that threaten more fragile companions and start fights in the school cafeteria or lobbies. The inferred conduct of Columbine-like understudies makes them an imposing test to class authority. Of course, secondary schools have â€Å"peer mediation.† The fundamental issue is that these â€Å"Columbine-like† understudies don’t need to speak with agents of standard scholastic school society. The vile disapproved of youngsters frequently don’t even speak with one another. That’s what makes them strolling and sitting time-bombs prepared to explode. They lean toward having an isolated presence that wouldn't like to be upset. They don’t communicate until it’s past the point of no return. The â€Å"Columbine understudy mentality† has a specific social â€Å"profile.† That’s right all you politically right pundits out there, I vehemently expressed the ill-advised word â€Å"profile.† The children state nearly nothing or nothing by any means. They keep their sentiments and musings essentially to themselves while sitting in their work areas, regularly fuming underneath cool outer faã §ades. Columbine-type kids only from time to time take part in study hall conversations or volunteer to do useful things in school. To them games, school clubs and grants are not worth seeking after. Their disobedience is quiet, subtle, chilly, crafty and determined. Their progressing rage is adeptly disguised; they could emit and detonate at any moment. These children, likely around five percent of any center or high school’s understudy body, are singular sticks of explosive fit to be lit. Not by any means the â€Å"students’† direction advocates have any mental handle on what these wily young people are thinking, feeling or plotting. The Columbine-type kid frequently feels singled out, baffled, distanced and abused.

She’s still in Forks. I slowed some to let Emmett catch up with me. â€Å"I think he’s going to head back to Forks†¦but I don’t understand – he isn’t running that direction. He keeps running north and not in a straight path. I think he’s trying to get us off his trail.† I explained to Emmett. Maybe we could split up and try to trap him, he suggested. â€Å"That might be what he wants. Let’s just keep together for now.† You’re just afraid I’ll catch up to him before you and will miss the opportunity to kill him, Emmett was plainly trying not to laugh. I sighed loudly at his thoughts, though he was partially correct ?C I did want to personally rip him to shreds. I could see the dim city lights of Vancouver begin to get closer to us. As the sun rose the windows on the large buildings began to shimmer and reflect onto the large city. I hadn’t heard any thoughts or any noise from James for several miles. I only continued to follow his scent. When we reached the forest edge we stood in the shadows looking out at the partially sunny grounds. Emmett’s eyes glowed a honey color in the dazzling sunlight. It’s too sunny. Emmett looked up like he was willing the clouds to form. As soon as he thought the words a long cloud loomed into view, moving closer to the sun until a shadow hung over us and the city below turned grey and dark. â€Å"Let’s go,† I commanded with a bite of impatience in my voice. We continued to follow his scent as we made our way across town until it ended abruptly at a car rental store. â€Å"Crap,† we both said together. Her mind began to panic as she read the information on the screen. She looked away before I was able to read it. She turned her face to mine, her eyes wide with terror. â€Å"Um†¦Ã¢â‚¬  she hesitated nervously. â€Å"The car has already been returned to another branch.† â€Å"Where?† I asked with an inarticulate yell of rage. â€Å"The airport,† she said in a high pitched whisper. Panic erupted through my stomach as I realized I had no idea where he was going. My only conclusion is that he was going back to Forks, but I wasn’t positive. I clenched my fists and ran out towards the Jeep and without saying a word Carlisle he was speeding quickly south towards Washington. â€Å"We need to know if he shows up in Forks,† I said hastily. Carlisle was dialing Esme’s number before I was able to speak anymore. I heard Esme answer the phone. â€Å"Hello.† â€Å"Esme, what has Victoria been doing?† Carlisle asked politely yet hurriedly. â€Å"Rosalie followed her to Charlie’s house. Don’t worry, he wasn’t home. I am not sure what she was looking for there†¦maybe to find a lead on where Bella might be. I heard Esme gasp over the phone. â€Å"Victoria also went to the airport,† she whispered. I dove deeper into Emmett’s mind, watching him mentally kick Brad Pitt’s ass. It was quite entertaining. When the movie ended I started searching through Carlisle’s mind to see if he had found anything interesting to read. He was reading about a new technology to remove different kinds of brain cancer that are almost impossible to get to without damaging the patient. â€Å"We are about to land in Phoenix Arizona where the time is nine twenty-seven. Looks like we are going to be arriving on a beautiful sunny day, where the temperature is eighty eight degrees,† the stewardess announced over the intercom. The thought of her blushing face as I brought her lips to mine in greeting sent me above the edge, I was holding myself to the seat trying not to leapt up and break through the plane. In 2003, 62 percent of men and 48 percent of women above 15 years follow sedentary lifestyle in America (Kochane 2). However, evidences are clear that this lifestyle causes heart diseases including its risk factors like obesity, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol level and diabetes (Kochane 2). For example, a statistical results indicated that 27 percent of girls and 22 percent of boys watched TV for more than four hours per day. They were established to be overweight as compared to their active counterparts (World Health Orga nization 73). It is also estimated that 4 percent of women and 3 percent of men over 30 years, die as a result of cardiovascular diseases due to lack of regular physical activity. Regular physical exercise provides health benefits and reduces most of the risk factors that cause cardiovascular diseases. Population that is physically active has about half the number of cardiovascular disease cases as compared to physically inactive population (Al-Maskari 1). Self-Image: Anerexia Nervosa Anorexia nervosa is a potentially life-threatening eating disorder characterized by a lack of self-esteem, an intense fear of becoming obese, and self-induced starvation due to a distorted body image (Durham, 1991). Anorexia can occur later in life, but it is most common in girls between the ages of fourteen and eighteen. According to the Center for Change, recent estimates suggest that 1% of Americans within this age range will, to some degree, develop anorexia and 10-20% will eventually die from related complications. I have experienced this deteriorating disease from a bystander’s point of view. After making a pact with my friends to get physically fit for the summer, the four of us exercised and dieted daily for nearly four months. I never thought that this effort to become healthy (or just look good in our bikinis) would have such dire consequences. While everyone ended this exhaustive diet plan, one of my friends became obsessed with her body image and without our knowledge, gradually developed the eating disorder anorexia nervosa. She went unnoticed for several months because she masterfully disguised her eating habits by consuming large quantities of fruit, vegetables, and salads in our presence while secretly fasting at home. Moreover, in spite of her attitude toward eating, she took an avid interest in buying and preparing food for us. Looking back, I think that we were all anorexic to some degree. Personally, I was 16 years old, 5’7 and only weighed about 105 pounds. If I ha d lost a couple more pounds, I would have been 25% below my normal body weight, which would be enough to also diagnose me with anorexia nervosa (Shaw, 2002). The majority of people who suffer from anorexia begin, as we did, with an innocent diet that gradually progressed to extreme and unhealthy weight loss (Shaw, 2002). Unlike normal dieting which stops when the desired weight is reached, people who become anorexic atribute positive feelings to their ability to control their weight and become dangerously preoccupied with food and fear weight gain. Research suggests that stringent dieting can play a key role in triggering eating disorders. Adolescent and young adult women are more vulnerable to these disorders due to their tendency to go on strict diets in order to achieve an â€Å"ideal† figure (Lehrman, 1987). Even thought the cause of anorexia nervosa is not known several different studies suggest that social attitudes toward body appearance, family influences, genetics, and developmental factors are possible contributors to anorexia (Selzman, 1999).

Good afternoon, today I will try to express my opinion about this statement „You can tell a great deal about people from the clothes they wearâ€Å". And I will speak about which age group of people care most about their looks, how important is fashion for me and what is advantages and disadvantages of wearing a school unifrom. I agree with this statement , because you can get to know a lot of about people from they clothes. For example if man wear formal clothes I can make and overall opinion about him. He is formal, intelligent elegant and taking care of himself. If I would saw someone at work with dirty and tear clothes of course I would think about him not so good. I think teenager are the group of people who care most about their looks.Teenagers believe their looks are the key to a good relationship and it will help become popular at the scholl. But When they’re older, they’ll realize it doesn’t work like that. Fashion helps to express themselves and also provides teenagers a sense of identity by signaling which â€Å"grouping† they belong to (â€Å"emo† â€Å"punk,† â€Å"goth,† etc.) And in my opinion Celebrities perhaps are the greatest influences on teenagers in the modern world, and they can have a huge impact on a teen’s ideas about fashion and its importance. Fashion isn’t important to me at all. I don’t care about having the newest, the most trendy, or the best label for anything. To me, being trendy is not expressing yourself, it is merely following the crowd and trying to fit in. I just prefer to be myself.And I wear what I like. I study at gymnasium so we wear school unifrom. I think school uniform have advantages and disadvantages. Here are some advantages : 1. People automatically respect you – Whenever we’d go on fieldtrips, people comment on how professional and nice we looked 2. Everyone looks exactly the same – You don’t have to worry about not wearing the right thing. And some disadvantages : 1.It’s annoying wearing the same thing as everyone else 2. You wear it everyday, all day it‘s just become boring . And lack of Variety To sum up everyone should wear clothes which they like and feel good with.These clothes will show the real you. Because other people can tell a great deal about you from the clothes you wear.
